Focus On Yourself Just A Little Bit More... You'll Be Happier

I shared a blog post sharing morning routines that can help you make the most of your day. You can read that entire post here. A lot of what I commit to at the start of my day is my way of shifting my focus to self. My morning routine really helps me to focus on how I am feeling and really enjoy my time alone. Most of us believe it takes extreme effort or doing more than normal to achieve a healthy, quality relationship with self.

My only goal really is to cultivate a life where my relationship with self is thriving and healthy. It's really easy to focus on everything around us and neglect ourselves. Most of us have not tapped into the value of a quality relationship with ourselves which has resulted in us becoming far too dependent on external forces outside of ourselves. Loneliness is a sign that we are in desperate need of ourselves. It means that it is time to delve deeper into who we truly are. It's a sign we are eager for a deeper connection with our soul.

Go Within ...

How do we begin to maximize the relationship with our self? We become more intentional. Anything you seek to accomplish about you must first be real and intentional about it. Our self-care is no longer an option, it is now a necessity. You will not be able to function physically without true knowledge self and love for self. There is a shift that is in occurrence and due to this shift a lot of us are being pushed further and further into accepting the parts of us we continue to disregard. A lot of us are experiencing moments of struggle or discomfort because it is bringing us face to face with where we are falling short in learning to embrace all of who we are. Here are a few ways to help you maximize your self focus.

I cannot focus on myself if I am constantly in tune to what is going on around me. Stop checking your phone first thing in the morning. Stop checking your phone before bed. Stop spending more time on social media and keeping up with others. Use this time to connect with you. Don't give away the time you could spend reveling in the beauty of spending quality time with yourself.

The easiest way to connect with myself on a deeper level is for me to gain full clarity on how I am feeling and to write these feelings out. I even take the time to write love letters to myself or affirmations to remind me of my power and who I am. Often times, speaking things aloud or thinking them doesn't help me to properly assess my feelings. It's taking the time to write these feelings out that helps me to gain a full understanding on what I am feeling and why. Whether my feelings are positive or negative, often times it is what I am feeling that can have a huge affect on how I feel about myself if I don't deal with these feelings properly. Being able express these feelings by writing them out helps to release them and the source in which they developed from. I can revisit these feelings if need be but most times it's just a way to help me clear my mind and spend quality time with myself.

Catering to Myself

No matter what my relationship status is, I am still committed to myself first. I take myself on dates. I buy myself nice gifts. I buy myself flowers. I do all of these things so that I am not dependent on others to do it for me. I do these things often and they have now become the norm for me. I do not attach my worth or value to anything someone else gifts me with because I am already accustomed to the finer things thanks to myself.

Introduce yourself to the art of affirming your own divine beauty and light. Every day, all day start speaking positive, affirming  words to yourself. In the beginning it may feel funny because you aren't used to it, but the more you do it the better it feels. Below are a few affirmations to get you started on maximizing your self-focus.

  • I am.

  • I love myself unconditionally and accept all of who I am.

  • I am a powerful woman/man with unlimited gifts.

  • I am worthy of love. I know that love starts with me.

  • I am a magnet for all things that are in support of my highest good.

  • I do not have to lower my vibrations or change my natural state of being for anyone. Who is meant for me will love me as I am and match my vibrations.

Be Inspired. Be Encouraged. Be Blessed.
